Black as colour, absence of light and process.
Radu Comșa (b. 1975) lives and works in Cluj. In the midst of the pandemic he had a solo exhibition at MNAC titled “Discuție reducționistă în 4 culori” (Reductionist Discussion in 4 Colours). The next step is an even more drastic reduction. The exhibition is a premise from which to discuss black, the way it is equally colour, absence of light and process. In this exhibition proposal by Radu Comșa we will also be able to detect that minimum minimorum of sculpture, an epiphany that we find, more or less consciously acknowledged and embraced, in other works of contemporary Romanian art as well.
Special thanks to Sabot Gallery.
Nigredo, the exhibition by Cluj-based artist Radu Comșa, opened at H’art Gallery on 25 February 2021 and closed with a finissage on 10 June, with special thanks to Sabot Gallery.
After his solo show at MNAC, Discuție reducționistă în 4 culori (Reductionist Discussion in 4 Colours), Comșa proposed an even more drastic reduction: a discussion of black, at once colour, absence of light and process, and of that minimum minimorum of sculpture found in other works of contemporary Romanian art as well.
