Adrian Preda’s work, projected onto the walls of Brașov.

The projects of the ARCHÉ Association also include events dedicated to contemporary art, marking the association’s interest in the culture being made today, which will be tomorrow’s heritage.

In partnership with H’art Gallery, Amural, the Multicultural Centre of Transilvania University of Brașov, the National Museum of Maps and Old Books and CESI – Centre of Excellence in Image Studies, the AFCN co-funded project Bound to Spacetime brings together a series of workshops and talks with CESI students, digital projections within the Amural festival and an exhibition to be held this autumn.

Astral Interjection brings together Dinu Ivancu (Moduler) and foton², who create a sound installation and video mapping based on the most recent period of Adrian Preda’s work. His interest in space, as physical but also conceptual presence (a declension of the term landscape, followed by the forms skyscape and spacescape), extends in this instance to sound and animation.

Conceived as a digital manifestation of his artistic concerns, Astral Interjection sets Preda’s work in a dynamic dimension, over an urban setting that it hijacks in order to project it into another world.

On 29 August 2020, the Drapers’ Bastion in Brașov hosted “Astral Interjection”, a sound installation and video mapping by Dinu Ivancu (Moduler) and foton², based on Adrian Preda’s most recent body of work. The projection was part of Bound to Spacetime, a project by the ARCHÉ Association co-funded by AFCN and run in partnership with H’art Gallery, Amural and other institutions.

Preda’s interest in space, as both physical and conceptual presence, from landscape to skyscape and spacescape, extends here to sound and animation. The piece sets his work in motion, hijacking the urban setting to project it into another world.
