History leaves its mark on the body.
In the paintings brought together in Dulce et Decorum, George Anghelescu considers the body as a site of memory and trauma. Carefully constructed images, free gestures and scratched surfaces bring accounts of violence and power into the same pictorial field.
The exhibition ran at H’art from 3 October to 8 November 2014, at the gallery’s former space on C.A. Rosetti 25. Photographs and Valentina Iancu’s review in ARTA Magazine document this moment in the programme.
