Ion Bîrlădeanu cuts images from the press and cinema, then casts them in new roles. Public figures, anonymous faces and pieces of everyday life share scenes in which scale and hierarchy are rearranged. Each montage lands with the precision of satire.
His encounter with Dan Popescu and H’art helped bring the collages to international attention. Profana Comedie, presented at H’art Appendix in 2017, and his participation in Expoziția Dan Popescu are two moments recorded in the gallery archive.
